The Key Clinic Exercise Programme

NeuroMature

A movement method designed to help improve learning and behavioural problems by stimulating neurodevelopment and overcoming any underlying reflex blockages.

According to the INPP (Institute of Neurodevelopmental Psychology), the retention of primitive reflexes can make many everyday tasks, such as reading and writing, extremely challenging and can also increase anxiety. For adults and children who still have these ‘immaturities’ in the system, nothing comes easily or naturally, and they have to work extremely hard to try to compensate for these difficulties.

The Key Clinic’s NeuroMature programme takes you through Neurodevelopmental Exercises to inhibit retained primitive reflexes, which, in turn, may improve eye tracking, balance, coordination, self-confidence, and emotional resilience.

The Neurodevelopmental Assessment can either be carried out at one of our clinics or remotely.

What conditions can it help with?

Many parents report improvements across the following:

Academic performance

Emotional regulation

Eye-tracking

Confidence

Sporting ability

Balance and coordination

Sensory integration

Relationships

How does it work?

We are born with a set of primitive reflexes, which help the nervous system to develop. By the time a child reaches their first birthday, these reflexes should have all been integrated. However, sometimes they get ‘stuck’ in place, never completing their work, locking the nervous system in an immature state.

This immaturity can make school life very difficult, potentially interfering with reading, writing, balance, coordination, sports and fine motor skills. The result is low confidence, frustration and a failure to match performance to ability. It can also cause behavioural problems such as anxiety, mood swings and frustration.

NeuroMature uses simple, precise exercises to integrate primitive reflexes, overcoming ‘blockages’ and creating new neural pathways in the brain. In effect, giving the nervous system a ‘second chance’ to develop.

Once the internal stresses on the system are alleviated, parents often report their child becoming much more resilient in handling all that life throws at them.

Best of all, you do not need to repeat the programme, as the individual grows and fulfills his or her potential.

NeuroMature Testimonial

"My 12 year old child is unrecognisable. It's as if everything in her life just became easier for her! She is more coordinated and, therefore, excelling in sports; her confidence has increased, and her anxiety has decreased. She used to struggle with glare from lights and car sickness, which has all stopped.

Her reading and writing has had a small jump but as she was starting from a place where this was impossible for her to do at all, it means I'm thrilled with the jump!

Suddenly she is more able to be independent as she can work out slowly what things say. Jessie has been utterly fantastic and there for us whenever we needed her. She is so knowledgeable and keen to help. Thank you for everything you have done for us."
