The Key Clinic Biomedical Programme
BioTransform
Our BioTransform programme optimises mental and physical health. We target the root causes of symptoms for lasting change, without using medications.
Everyone is ‘bio-individual’, requiring a fully customised approach to help them feel their best. Our medically supervised, highly experienced team of Functional Medicine Practitioners and Nutritionists help restore optimal health. First, we gain an in-depth understanding of symptoms and then carry out laboratory tests to identify specific areas of imbalance or dysfunction. We then work to correct these, from the ground up, to restore healthy balance.
The Key Clinic’s work in this area is groundbreaking, harnessing insights from Functional Medicine and The Walsh Institute’s ‘Nutrient Therapy’. It is a way of rebalancing the specific nutrient levels the brain needs to function well. It includes dietary and lifestyle recommendations along with targeted supplements.
Where clients are already taking prescribed medications, we do not recommend coming off these, except under your doctor’s supervision. We are able to work alongside this, giving the body what the brain needs to be able to rebalance itself in future.
Everyone is bio-individually unique.
To optimise mental and physical health, it is important to understand your personal predisposition and identify any imbalances affecting behaviour, health, and wellbeing.
The work we do goes far beyond simple nutrition. Promoting a healthy diet, healthy microbiome and good digestion may be only part of what is required. You may have been born with a genetic inability to process specific vitamins and minerals. Without the correct balance, the brain simply cannot function as intended. Sometimes, more than a healthy diet is needed.
The Key Clinic has a multi-disciplinary team of experts - Nutritionists, Functional Medicine Practitioners and Walsh Nutrient Therapy specialists, all supervised by a GMC registered Doctor, to pinpoint areas of imbalance and to restore optimum health.
Our work incorporates some of the insights from The Walsh Institute. ‘Nutrient Therapy’ is ground-breaking new approach, developed over the past 30 years in the US by Dr William Walsh, based on testing for specific biochemical imbalances that may affect mood and behaviour. We then give the body what it needs to address these imbalances using targeted supplements. This approach aims to restore healthy balance and promote optimal brain functioning without medications.
What conditions can it help support?
Hyperactivity / Autism / Aggression / Depression / Anxiety / Mood swings / Poor digestion / Weakened immune functioning / Skin conditions
How does it work?
Walsh Nutrient Therapy
is particularly important for those diagnosed with ADHD, Autism, Depression or Anxiety to assess and understand their specific biochemistry. Gut dysfunction and nutrient imbalances all have a direct impact not only on physical health, but also on behaviour and mental health.
Frequently, the reason for hyperactivity, mood swings, poor focus, depression, anger and anxiety can be due to biochemical imbalances.
Some individuals are unable to absorb and process the nutrients, vitamins and minerals needed to build the chemical messengers in their brains. These imbalances directly influence behaviour, emotional reactions and overall functioning.
Walsh protocols identify the epigenetic influence specific vitamins and minerals have on neurotransmitter levels and prescribe natural supplements in order to support healthy brain functioning, without recourse to drugs.
Our medically supervised practitioners are available for Zoom consultations and can post relevant sample test kits to your home.
Key Insights from The Walsh Institute
The Institute has spent the past 30 years analysing differences in biochemistry in those with behavioral and/or mental health problems. =
Here are some of the key insights Dr Walsh Reports from his database findings:
70- 90% of individuals diagnosed with ADHD appear to have a Zinc/Copper Imbalance
The Walsh Database also identified five distinct biochemical profiles of depression:
Undermethylation – affecting 38% of cases
Folate Deficiency – observed in 20% of cases
Copper Overload – present in 17% of cases with Postnatal Depression
Pyrrole Disorder – occurring in 15% of cases
Toxic Overload – affecting 5% of cases
30% of individuals with ADHD on the Walsh database were found to have ‘pyrrole disorder’

“Through the Key Clinic’s biomedical route, our son’s life has improved and he more stable, which in turn helps us all as a family. Through testing we have discovered and been able to treat issues such as specific parasites and pyrrole disorder, which we had no idea of.
I had been dabbling with numerous supplements before coming to the Key Clinic, never really knowing what was working and at times making things worse. Whilst there is still room for further gains for our complex son, we are in a much better place. Cynthia always shows a good understanding of our son, is professional, knowledgeable, kind and always helpful. Thank you!”
